Sonae (UK) has achieved the NICEIC registration as an approved Contractor and Hazardous Area Contractor having been assessed as having the technical capability to carry out electrical installation work in accordance with the requirements of BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), including areas where potentially explosive atmospheres may be present.

Contractors registered by NICEIC are assessed on a regular basis to ensure that they are competent and capable of meeting the relevant technical and safety standards, codes of practice and rules of the scheme they are registered to.

Contractors are assessed against their management systems, procedures, documentation and relevant qualifications and experience of personnel for the specific types of Hazardous Area work undertaken.

Sonae (UK), CEO Paul Murphy will be appointed as Principal Duty Holder under the registration and Technical Director ‘Philip Lamb’ as Qualified Supervisor (Hazardous Areas) to take responsibility for the electrical work undertaken in both safe areas and potentially explosive atmospheres.

“The registration with NICEIC as an approved contractor and hazardous area contractor provide assurance to clients of our technical competency to deliver electrical and instrumentation installations to industry standards in potentially explosive atmospheres,” explained Paul Murphy Sonae (UK) CEO.
