Job Description
The postholder will support the project team in the preparation of electrical, control and instrument design packages to client design brief requirements. Based at the company head office, Wigan premises, duties include feasibility studies, site surveys, conceptual designs, preparation of detailed design packs for site installation purposes, review of design documents, submission of design packages for client acceptance, update of documents to As-built status and handover of design file at completion.
General Arrangement drawings, Schematic diagrams, equipment schedules, cable schedules, cable calculations, load calculations, I.S calculations, Block cable diagrams, Data sheets, Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Cable routing drawings, specification of equipment, design reviews and completion of handover records. Input into EHS file, lighting calculations, Heating Calculations, Design Risk Register
Key Responsibilities
- Feasibility studies and site surveys
- Conceptual Designs
- Document Control
- Attendance at design review meetings
- Use of excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
- Use of Amtech cable calculation software
- Use of AutoCAD software
- Use of Lighting Calculation software
- Preparation and update of design risk register
- Handover to project delivery team
- Specification of materials
- Prioritise Workload
- Communication with clients/suppliers in a professional manner as required by the company.
- Maintain a good company image at all times.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of current legislation and guidelines applicable to the role
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of client standard specifications.

- Preparation of detailed design packs to company standards including GAs, load calculations, lighting calculations, I.S Calculations, Heating calculations, Block Cable Diagrams, Instrument Loops, Hook Up Drawings, Termination schedules, data sheets, Single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, cable routing drawings, equipment location drawings, Design Scope of Work
